Someone Wrote 'All Cops Are Bastards' Over The 101 In Hollywood
Someone managed to spray paint "All Cops Are Bastards" over the 101 Freeway.
"All Cops Are Bastards," often shortened to simply "ACAB" is a phrase you might see popping up a lot on the Internet, typically on any number of recent articles about police using excessive force or the protests in the wake of Ferguson. It's not a recent phrase, and it also seems to have originated as a British one—"all coppers are bastards."
At some point in time on Tuesday night, someone managed to paint the full slogan, complete with shading, over the southbound lanes of the 101 Freeway in Hollywood over Vine Street. CBS2, who blurred out the "bastards," asked some passing drivers what they thought about the message. Chase Ahl told them, "I think it's awful, they should never have wrote that about cops," in a tone we're not certain is sincere.
LAPD Officer Jack Richter told CBS2 it's very offensive to him and that if you want to be an artist, you should buy a canvas.
Caltrans will be removing the graffiti soon, but CHP says it's going to cost thousands.
