A woman was attacked in Griffith Park today, less than one week after another woman was the victim of an attempted sexual assault in same area. Early this morning, a woman was near Fern Dell Drive and Los Feliz Blvd. when a man approached her and attempted to take her backpack, City News Service reports. There was a struggle, then the suspect fled. The woman was taken to the hospital, but there are no details about her injuries. She described the man as Hispanic, but police do not have details about his height, weight or age.

Last Wednesday, a man approached a woman around 10 a.m. when she was hiking near Dante's Peak. She said he started speaking to her in Spanish, then punched her and attempted to grope her. She was able to fight him off, though she suffered bruises and a broken finger. The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his 30s, about 5'7" with a mustache.

Police aren't sure if this most recent attack has anything to do with last week's, but are investigating the possibility.
