A 22-year-old Pico Rivera man has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing his grandmother, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Joseph Torres was discovered just past 8:30 p.m. last night by his grandfather. The suspect was standing near his 76-year-old grandmother with a knife after having stabbed her multiple times.

Officials determined that the two had a fight prior to the assault.

Torres lived with his grandparents.

The victim was taken to a local hospital in critical condition.
