A man was shot while driving on the 110 Freeway through downtown Los Angeles today.

ABC 7 says the shooting was reported around 11 a.m., and that the man was driving a van northbound through downtown. The driver managed to get off the freeway and parked near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and North Figueroa Street.

The victim was taken to the hospital, and his condition is unknown at this time. Police investigated his van, which aerial footage from NBC Los Angeles showing it had least one shattered window.

KNX's Claudia Peschiutta says the driver said the shots were fired from a 4-door sedan. LAPD Officer Jane Kim told LAist that the suspect is possibly an Asian male in a white car.
