Have a great Memorial Day weekend everyone! If you're sticking around town tonight, here are our a few of the more interesting picks:

You know you’re in for an interesting evening when the Museum of Jurassic Technology’s involved. So tonight, in collaboration with Automata, the museum presents the premiere of The Reptile Under the Flowers: A peepshow/diorama performance. This is an hour-long walk-through performance. And while we don’t know exactly what’s in the peepshow, we think there are puppets involved. Tonight’s shows are at 7:30 pm, 7:45 pm, 8:00 pm, 8:15 pm, 8:30 pm, 8:45 pm, 9:00 pm -- and it’s being held at the Foshay Masonic Lodge in Culver City. The peepshow runs through May 24. Tickets are $6-$15. Advance purchase is strongly suggested.

Remember Gizmo and the other gremlins? Believe it or not, they’ve turned 25! Tonight at 7:30 pm at the Aero Theatre, there’s a celebration double-feature of the movie’s 25th anniversary. A bunch of ’80s greats are in Gremlins: Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates and Corey Feldman. The film will be followed by the lesser-known sequel, Gremlins 2: The New Batch. There will be a discussion in between films with director Joe Dante and actor Glynn Turman (who was in the original movie).

The puppeteers of The Jim Henson Company bring a motley crew of characters to perform sketch comedy in Puppet Up! Uncensored, The International Sketch Comedy Show for Adults. Definitely not for children, the show is being described as “the uninhibited anarchy of live puppet performance as never seen before.” The show opens tonight at 8 pm at Avalon Hollywood. There's another performance on June 20, too. Tickets are $30-$35.

The Art Deco Society of Los Angeles brings its monthly Cocktails in Historic Places™ event to Duke’s at the Culver Hotel tonight from 6-8 pm. The Culver Hotel -- a "flatiron" landmark building in the heart of Culver City -- was built on the site of Culver City's first movie theater, and was owned at one point by actor John Wayne. Both members and nonmembers of the society are welcome to attend the no-host event, slip into something Deco (or not) and converse with like-minded people.
