Make a Date With Dine Out America

LAist knows that there's tons of great places to get your grub on in the city, but that many of our budgets don't necessarily afford us the luxury of checking them out. We also know that we're fortunate enough to be able to dine out, but that there's plenty of folks for whom a meal is not a given. Today kicks off two weeks of opportunities for dining out at reduced prices at some local eateries; not only do the diners benefit, but a portion of the proceeds of each meal are passed on to Share Our Strength, a charitable organization dedicated to fighting hunger in America. It's the S. Pellegrino 5th Annual Dine Out America, and it's happening in LA September 18-22 and 25-29 at participating restaurants, including The Grill on the Alley, Chaya Brasserie, Engine Co. No. 28, Ciudad, The Border Grill, Norman's, Traxx, Chinois on Main, and many more. All 30 restaurants throughout the greater Orange County and Los Angeles areas will offer their own unique three-course prix fixe menu at a common price: $20 for lunch and $35 for dinner. Please note that participation may vary; some restaurants will offer lunch or dinner only, and reservations are strongly recommended. Contact individual restauratns for more details, and for a list of participating restaurants visit OpenTable's webpage for the event.
