Celebrate the Grand Opening of Diesel, A Bookstore in Brentwood from 1-4 this afternoon. They promise the day will be full of camaraderie, literature, and meeting new friends. Diesel says: "Please come and stroll through the store's carefully selected array of titles and help us to celebrate our new independent bookstore. No matter what they say, L.A. is still a great book town!" Huzzah! You'll find this new store in the Brentwood Country Mart (225 26th St., Santa Monica).

Spend your Sunday afternoon sampling olive oils and other goodies crafted in San Clemente by Oliver's at Algabar Home & Life (342 South La Brea Avenue). From 1-5 p.m. you can try Oliver’s EVOO Olive Oil and Balsamic Vinegar, Squirrel Brand’s new Caramel Pecans, and more.

Head over to the Silent Movie Theatre tonight for a Cinefamily screening of Secondhand Sureshots. It's an experiment in creative sound recycling; a dublab documentary film featuring four amazing, LA-based beat makers: Daedelus, J-Rocc, Nobody and Ras G in a secret mission to create new musical magic from the dusty remains of thrift store vinyl. This special LA unveiling of "Secondhand Sureshots" will feature a bonus music video screening and live performances in the conceptual spirit of the film. Bonus: Ticket price includes free drinks and screenprinting too. Doors open at 7, tickets are $13 general or $9 members.
