HELP SEND A GIRL TO ROLLER DERBY CAMP: Check out the LA Derby Dolls fundraiser yard sale in Venice (but hurry, it's on from 9a-Noon!) and help give some cash to the cause. What little girl shouldn't learn how to be a roller derby queen?

WATCH SEXY BRAZILIAN DANCING: The heat and passion of Brazil take the stage at the Ford, as dancers use what they've got to give you a glimpse of the Afro-Bahian culture. Spirits and myths abound as the Viver Brasil Dance Company performs The Gift on the Water/Omi Odára. Get there early and have a picnic!

SWIM, DANCE, SWIM, DANCE: It's a holiday weekend, so what better to do than chillout, relax, dance, and swim with a bunch of random strangers who are down to do the same. It's a big pool party at the Custom Hotel on Lincoln Blvd, with entertainment by DJs Micro, Thomas Penton, Paris & Blaz, and Architects of Sound. $25 gets you all you can eat BBQ, a seat by the pool, and drinks from the bar for as long as you can stay, until the party ends.

GET YOUR NEON ON: Tonight is the Museum of Neon Art's Classic Neon Cruise. Ride a double decker bus through the big city ooh and ahh over the bright lights. To quote: "the narrated tour points out prime examples of local neon's aesthetic dimensions...placing them firmly within the context of 20th century Los Angeles culture and history." Okay, and it's fun, too.

FIND OUT "WHAT'S UP, DOC?": ...at the popular Bugs Bunny on Broadway concert tonight at the Hollywood Bowl. Go this year because it won't be the same again...uh, try to untangle this sentence that tells you to see it "before the critically-acclaimed original version is retired in preparation for a brand new version of the concert which will mark this concert's 20th Anniversary in 2010." (It was our Classical Pick of the Week, too!)

Other things to do: Check out the opening of Mark Gleason & Caia Koopman's new group show, rock out with Mods and Rockers at the Egyptian, see The Wackness, hoist a brew at the Red Lion, or take a walk in Beachwood Canyon.
