UCLA'S Jazz Reggae Festival
The Jazz Reggae Festival at UCLA is a two-day annual music festival held every Memorial Day Weekend that celebrates music, art, culture and diversity, while hosting some of the world's most prominent musicians in Jazz, Hip Hop, Soul, and Reggae. This year they have a new theme: "A Culture of Change." With this in mind, the festival will be implementing more initiatives to make our show zero-waste as well as environmentally and socially sustainable. Today's lineup includes: Erykah Badu, De La Soul, Leela James, People Under the Stairs, Ayo, Nino Moschella, Mateo, NK Band, Kalil Wilson and the Berkeley Everret Sextet, and Louder Than Words. Celebrate Palate With a Crawfish Boil
Sunday Sessions + Sunday Supper at Glendale's palate food + wine is a bit spiffier this time because the acclaimed eatery is celebrating their first anniversary. They're doing it up New Orleans-style, with "old bay", spicy aioli + plenty of beer. They say: "You supply the appetite, we'll supply the beer!" Enjoy the sounds of Southern Blues, rare fun, and Big Easy Jazz, Noon-5. Or, if you can't make the Session and want some Supper, from 5-9 as always they have their special 3-course menu for $35/person, and lots of wonderful wine to choose from.
