Chances are your plans for this weekend will include eating of some sort, so why not make eating your plans? Check out any or all of these three food-focused events taking place this weekend:

September 15, 16, & 17: Port of Los Angeles Lobster Festival
Enjoy $17 Maine lobster meals and a variety of entertainment (free with admission) down at Ports O'Call Village in San Pedro. Admission is $8, Kids 12 & under free. Friday 5-11 p.m., Saturday 11 a.m. - 11 p.m., Sunday 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.

September 16: 24th annual American Wine & Food Festival
40 celebrated chefs and over 60 fine wine and spirit purveyors serve up a night of fine dining to benefit the LA Chapter of Meals on Wheels. The evening includes live music, a silent auction, and of course a feast of foods prepared by some of the world's top chefs. Tickets are $275 in advance/$300 at the door. Table reservations begin at $3,000. For tickets or ticket information, please contact tickets@wolfgangpuck.com. The event will be held on the backlot of Universal Studios, 3900 Lankershim Boulevard, Universal City, from 6-11 p.m.

September 17: Taste of Santa Monica
Samplings from the area’s finest restaurants will be available; participants include Border Grill, Ocean & Vine and Katsuya, among others. Attendees can pair these gourmet nibbles with wine in the wine garden. There will also be cooking demonstrations and live music all day. $40 for adults and $10 for children; ticket price includes food. A ticket for the wine garden is an additional $15. On the Santa Monica Pier, Noon-4 p.m.
