The end of the decade is nigh — with many different ways to celebrate.

If you're not looking for a special prix fixe dinner followed by parties with bottle service, then check out Two-Bit Circus' NYE, First Night Fullerton or BOOM! in West Hollywood.

Other festivities include Dita von Teese's annual show, a surprise screening at the Old Town Music Hall in El Segundo, and bands and floats at the Tournament of Roses parade.

Bandfest

Watch the second day of performances by the marching bands participating in the 2020 Rose Parade. Bands and their auxiliary performers present the field shows that got them selected. There are two sessions on Monday at 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. (with different programs/participants).

Brazil
New Beverly Cinema — 7165 Beverly Blvd., Fairfax
Terry Gilliam's surreal, 1985 sci-fi cult classic screens in 35mm at this matinee screening. The dark, dystopian comedy features Jonathan Pryce as a daydreaming low-level government clerk who "tries to correct an administrative error with disastrous, cascading complications." The visual design is meant to be seen on the big screen.

SoCal's largest winter experience features all-ages experiences and activities, including a festival of lights, an outdoor ice-skating rink, ice tubing, snow play, a larger Festival of Lights, a Dickens Village and an Anaheim Ducks Village. Plus, live music, entertainment and character meet-and-greets. On NYE, Winter Fest also offers the inaugural Orange Ball drop, fireworks and a 1,000 balloon drop at midnight. A 30-second countdown begins at 8:59:30 p.m.for the Times Square ball drop, followed by a 10-minute fireworks display. At 11:59:30 p.m., the real countdown begins and is followed by another fireworks show.

The renowned parade features four types of entries: flower-decorated floats, equestrian units, bands and official tournament participant entries. The 5 1/2-mile route begins at the corner of Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard then travels north on Orange Grove Boulevard and then turns east onto Colorado Boulevard, concluding at Villa Street. Unfortunately, if you're watching from home, hosts Cord Hosenbeck and Tish Cattigan (aka Will Ferrell and Molly Shannon) won't be back this year for live commentary.
