Snow Day LA Brings Tubing & A Winter Garden To Elysian Park

Snow Day LA returns and will be converting The Old Lodge at Montecillo De Leo Politi into a winter wonderland. From now until December 29th, every Friday through Sunday, the event will open its doors for guests to enjoy a snowstorm of fun that includes a crystal garden, light shows, tubing, and more.

Some might wonder how to make it snow in the sunny city of Los Angeles, where it hasn't snowed since 1962. Well, aside from this surprise earlier this year. The organizers behind Snow Day LA use SPFX snow blowing machines, which shoot out bio-degradable and non-toxic "snow" that disappears within minutes. This method saves water, which we need here in So Cal, and still creates the powder-filled experience of Snow Day LA.

Aside from the faux snowfall, Snow Day LA will offer a full interactive experience with activities, lighting installations, food trucks, and hot drinks. Guests can take full advantage of the 3D Frozen Time Instagram photo booth. There's also an animated penguin holiday light path, a glowing mountain light show, and the new Enchanted Crystal Winter Garden where you can make your way through towering glowing crystals. With upgraded tickets, guests can go winter tubing and enjoy a thrilling ride down the hills of the park.

Montecillo De Leo Politi can be found within the iconic Elysian Park, next to Echo Park and minutes from Downtown. There is free parking within Elysian Park but may be limited depending on attendance. Snow Day LA recommends arriving early or using ride share services.
