Downtown's beloved coffee truck Tactile Coffee moving into a brick-and-mortar. Tactile has signed a lease for a space on Beverly Boulevard in Historic Filipinotown north of Westlake.
"We're hoping to have it open in the next six to eight months," Eric Yi, co-founder of Tactile with his brother Mike, told LAist. "We're going to take everything we had on the truck—the espresso bar [using Counter Culture beans], the specialty coffee—and transfer it over to the shop, along with some food that we add."
Tactile will be making food items and pastries in-house, and sourcing breads from local bakers, he adds.
As for the truck? "That's a good question," Yi continues. "We'll figure out if we have the staffing and whatnot for that as we get closer to opening."
As Eater LA adds that Tactile's store will share a building with Boyle Height's Vaka Burger expansion set to open this summer.
In the meantime, you'll find the Tactile truck in its usual Fashion District spot during the week.
The Tactile Coffee truck can be found Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the corner of Towne Avenue and 10th Street in Los Angeles.
