Coachella Style, Weekend One: Princess Leia Hair, Face Paint And So Much Denim

At this point, the style at Coachella is an entire industry and its name has entered the pantheon of brand-names-turned-generic-descriptors, or so Urban Outfitters mistakenly assumed.

Coachella offers two weekends a year where thousands of people make similar aesthetic decisions in an attempt to let loose and be free, while spending hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars attending the festival. Ah, late capitalism, where would we be without you.

This year is no different, and check out the gallery for plenty of breezy dresses, Burning Man-appropriate bondage, and so many pants (so many pants this year, guys! I thought the desert was supposed to be hot). The style space-time continuum has also completely collapsed, which offers a great chance to see 1965 alongside 1982 and 2004, all wrapped up in an Instagrammable package.

We'll have to wait and see if Weekend Two can prove itself a worthy style rival to Weekend One.
