Dominique Ansel Is Bringing Cronuts To The Grove
If you love the Grove, but wish it were slightly more crowded with lines of Instagram-hungry tourists, we have good news for you; the Cronuts are coming.
It was announced in February that New York pastry chef Dominique Ansel would bring his signature Cronut (half croissant, half donut) to Los Angeles. Now, Eater L.A. reports Ansel will take over Morel’s French Steakhouse, located inside the Grove, and turn it into a full-service restaurant and bakery.
Angelenos are no strangers to food fads, from poke bowls to our evergreen favorite avocado toast, and the Cronut’s arrival at the already-bustling Grove has the potential to create a pandemonium that puts even New York's infamous Cronut lines to shame.
Ansel's Los Angeles location is slated to open sometime this fall, the LA Times reports; we'll keep you updated so you know exactly when to stake out the Grove. Or, if you'd rather avoid the mobs of steely-eyed pastry fanatics, when to stay far, far away from Fairfax.
