Bestia Alumni Roll Out New Food Truck Featuring Savory Grain Bowls


A new food truck via some Bestia alumni will be rolling around Los Angeles starting tomorrow.

Pico House comes via Philip Moses (Bestia, Ray's And Stark Bar) and Christopher Chi (Bestia, Blue Hill at Stone Barns), and will debut for the first time on Friday, July 1 at 10:30 a.m. outside Stumptown Coffee (806 S. Santa Fe Ave.) in the Arts District. Pico House will be serving up savory grain bowls, salads, soda, and desserts.


The grain bowls come in flour flavors:
  • Robertson Short Rib with beef bacon, pasilla puree, broccoli, swiss card, radicchio, tomato chutney, crispy shallots.
  • Crenshaw Meatballs (pork and chicken), coconut curry, garbanzo beans, jicama slaw, honey roasted peanuts.
  • Grandma's Pork with gochujang braised pork shoulder, chrysanthemum purée, garlic confit, green kale, sesame vinaigrette.
  • Union Lamb with harissa roasted lamb shoulder, carrot puree, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, mint, goat cheese.

They will also serve salads, onion rings, grilled eggplant, house pickles and a concoction called Ugly Fruit Soda.

Desserts will come via pastry chef Gemma Matsuyama's venture, Heavy Cream. Pico House will have her cardamon beignets and seasonal cream puffs, which contain a pink lemonade custard.

And if your furry friends are with you, Pico House is also offering treats and water for dogs.
