Why bother with Coachella this year when you can just listen to Prince in the comfort of your own home? There's likely to be more Kleenex on hand, which you'll be needing after listening to his magical performance at the festival in 2008.
Live for Live Music also posted the setlist, which, in addition to hits like "1999" and "Little Red Corvette," and "Musicology," includes his gorgeous cover of Radiohead's "Creep." And, as if you needed more reasons to bawl, he goes ahead and covers Sarah McLachlan's "Angel." Like...are you kidding me? He finishes the set with the Beatles "Come Together" before launching into an encore performance of "Purple Rain" and "Let's Go Crazy."
My friend Christie, one of the lucky ones who was at this very performance said of the night:
I remember when Prince said fuck it and played past 1 am despite the midnight noise curfew. He was fined $1000 per minute for that. The costume changes, the shredding guitar solos, Morris Day, Sheila E, and especially [the Radiohead] cover —it was pure magic. Reflecting today I'm realizing that may have been the best concert experience of my life.
