Actor Alec Baldwin and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, have apparently decided to leave NYC and move to L.A. where they will hopefully receive a little more privacy.

Actor Alec Baldwin has decided to move his family to L.A., a source told Page Six. Soon, he, his wife Hilaria—who is expecting the couple's third child—and their two young children will call Los Angeles home.

Baldwin expressed his frustrations with NYC in an interview with our sister site, Gothamist. Namely, the actor felt like he was was being harassed too frequently by other people, saying "public life now, it is just, it is horrible."

When asked if he was planning on leaving New York City, he said:

New York is just... I go out the door of my house, every day there's all these photographers here. We have a little baby, you think I want my kid raised like that? My ex wife raised my other daughter in Los Angeles. What does Los Angeles mean, what does it signify? It means gated living. You pull up to a gate you go behind a wall and you're done with it. You get out of valet parking you go into a restaurant you're on private property. Your feet never touch public land! I think to myself there's so many other places to live to be happy. You know, Bloomberg doesn't want people to drink big sodas, but he wants to make sure those paparazzi have the right to have their lenses five feet from my daughter's head.

You know something, I don't know what the answer is as far as career and life, but I know I have to walk down completely different routes, I just do. I have to walk down completely different routes. I feel like you just become... what you're doing is paddling against the current.

(The ex in question, by the way, would be Kim Basinger, and the daughter in question would be model Ireland Baldwin.)

It's like what his friend, fellow actor Ken Page, once told Baldwin—that New York is a river, while L.A. is a lake:

New York has a current that pulls you in some direction. Where L.A. has none. So you have to row your boat in L.A. You gotta get motivated. LA will test your passions, friendships, beliefs. You live in L.A. long enough, you change. You have to.

It hasn't been just photographers trying to get a glimpse of Baldwin and his family, however. Baldwin was once stalked by an actress named Genevieve Sabourin, who reportedly met Baldwin on a film set in 2002 and then began repeatedly emailing and texting him a decade later after the pair had dinner together. Baldwin said the dinner was platonic and for the purpose of giving her career advice, while Sabourin claims the pair had a romantic encounter after which Baldwin promised to make her omelets every morning, according to CNN. She was arrested in 2012 after her repeated emails and texts escalated to her showing up at his Greenwich Village apartment in 2012. In 2013, she was convicted of stalking and harassment, and was ultimately sentenced to 180 days in jail for stalking, plus an extra month for attempted contempt of court.

Maybe when Baldwin gets here, he can fly into LAX's paparazzi proof terminal.
