A spooky outdoor movie series returns to Griffith Park this weekend—appropriately at the park's abandoned zoo.

Grab your blankets, gird your lions and head to the old Griffith Park Old Zoo on Friday night to catch a screening of the original Poltergeist, the first film in this season's Great Horror Movie Nights series. The evening is hosted by the same frightening folks that have brought us the Haunted Hayride and the Great Horror Campout, and will take place by the empty cages of the abandoned zoo where they love to freak us out during their other events.

Gates open for the night at 6 p.m. and the screening begins at 7:15 p.m. Tickets are $15 each, plus service charge, and can be purchased here. Picnics are welcome, but alcohol is "not permitted." Also, costumes, masks or props of any kind are not allowed, in case you were planning on dressing up for the occasion.

The screening series will also include a screening of The Shining on April 1 and Friday the 13th on May 13 (a Friday!), and more info can be found here.

And to get you in the spooky spirit, here's the original trailer for Poltergeist:
