Kogi BBQ Truck Is Now Open At LAX
LAX is seriously moving on up in the food department. The bustling airport just got a new addition to its Terminal 4—a Kogi BBQ truck.
And the best part is that this new food kiosk that opened its doors this morning actually looks like a food truck placed inside the American Airlines terminal. Kogi BBQ, which changed up the face of the food truck scene in Los Angeles when it first started rolling on its wheels in 2008, is bringing some of its tested-and-true dishes to the airport. According to their blog, they promise to serve their short rib taco, Blackjack quesadilla, and something exclusive to the airport—Kogi for breakfast.
This Kogi BBQ truck is in good company at the terminal. Eater LA reports that it's next to 8 oz Burger Bar, Real Food Daily, Cole's and Campanile. LAX has been remodeling and updating its roster of L.A.-based eateries, and we've seen the likes of Umami Burger, Loteria! Grill, Lemonade and ink.sack in the mix.
Chef Roy Choi—who's been a busy guy lately with a new CNN show, working on a new healthy fast food chain and opening up restaurants in Koreatown—has been happily tweeting photos this past week of the progress on the space, and taking selfies with his staff and diners.
This one was the most endearing one:
