Pyramid Lake Boat Accident Leaves At Least 1 Dead

One man has died after a boat overturned in Pyramid Lake, and an unknown number of people on the boat were still unaccounted for Sunday., according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Divers were still looking for additional people who were on the boat as of 12:50 p.m. Sunday, ABC7 reported. Sheriff's deputies initially had said two people were dead, but they later said a second body has not yet been found. The man who died has not yet been identified.

The fire department said the incident happened at about 11:40 a.m. Sunday.

Pyramid Lake is near Castaic and about 60 miles north of Downtown L.A.

UPDATE July 2, 11:17 a.m.: Sheriff's divers found the body of Jack Thirasack, 64, in Pyramid Lake after searching for him for three days, according to City News Service. They had found his fishing license near the overturned boat. The body they found on Sunday has been identified as belonging to 52-year-old Rick Tanovan.
