A Baby Was Delivered in a Gas Station Parking Lot

And now for your daily “aww”: A baby girl was delivered by a police officer at a Simi Valley gas station parking lot Saturday.

The expectant mother and her family pulled off the 118 freeway to the parking lot of a gas station at the corner of Stearns and Bernard streets in Simi Valley at around 1 p.m. when the woman started having contractions, LA Times reports. The woman’s son called 911, and senior Simi Valley police officer Kyle Crocker arrived, preparing the woman for delivery.

Moments later, before the fire department and paramedics could arrive, 30-year-old Crocker delivered baby Ariel.

Congrats to the family!
