The weekend is so close you can practically taste it. Here are the edible events going on in the next few days to keep you occupied — and sated, for that matter.

Free Bloody Marys For Museum Day: As we all know, 20 museums around Los Angeles are offering free admission this Saturday. To add to the freebie goodness, The Fat Dog is offering a complimentary small size Bloody Mary to anyone who either shows a ticket stub or a phone selfie from a museum. The catch is you've gotta purchase a brunch item, which isn't really much of a hitch considering they make such a wicked short rib hash. You can find out all the vitals here.

Flamenco Dinner at El Cid:This Sunday Silver Lake's El Cid is presenting an Andalucian night of Noche En Triana, a flamenco from the town of Triana in Southern Spain where flamenco has a longstanding tradition. The show is $15 solo, but there's also a $30 three-course pre-fixe dinner menu that changes weekly which includes soup and salad, and an entrée selection. There are plenty of tapas you an order a la carte too, as well as seasonal cocktails. The show begins at 5:30 p.m. You can find out more information here.

Norman Van Aken Cooks At Son of a Gun: Okay, so it's not exactly the weekend, but you might want to hold off on your indulgences because this Tuesday the legendary Norman Van Aken — chef at Norman's at the Ritz-Carlton in Grande Lakes, Orlando, and Chef and Director of Restaurants at The Miami Culinary Institute — will be cooking at Son of a Gun in WeHo. And for $40. The reason why it is such a big ol' deal is not just the cheap price tag; the guy basically invented international fusion cooking, which has now become such a huge part of the way America eats, back in the 80s. The menu will include carny corn dogs with honey mustard dip, oysters "Remick," and smothered pork chop adobo with onions, oranges, and pineapple. The dinner is meant to promote his new memoir, "No Experience Nescessary," which will be available for purchase and autograph. Drinks start at noon, with lunch starting 12:45 p.m. There are still a few seats at the communal table left, so ring them up for reservations at 323-782-9033.
