Last week we professed our love for a good glass of whiskey and a slice of pumpkin pie, which is pretty much an unbeatable combo. But you can also put your pumpkin pie inside your alcoholic beverage. Not the actual slice of pie, course. That could get kind of gross. But over at Fig & Olive they're doing a pumpkin spiced martini that does the drinkable equivalent.

Their autumnal cocktail, which goes for $14 at the Melrose location, is also super easy to DIY at home. You can use this great primer on how to infuse spirits via Serious Eats if you'd like, or if you're being super lazy pants about it there are always those pre-flavored vodkas at the liquor store. Doing it yourself makes for a less saccharine, fake tasting flavor, though.

Here's how its done:

Pumpkin Spiced Martini

Ingredients

Serves 1

1.5 oz house infused vanilla vodka
.5 oz Applejack
.5 oz lime juice
.5 oz ginger syrup
1 bar spoon pumpkin butter
ice

Method

Rim a chilled martini glass with crushed graham crackers by dipping it in maple syrup and then dunking in the crumbs. Set aside. Add all the ingredients into a stainless steel cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake and strain into the martini glass.
