After being open for nearly 100 years, Downtown L.A.'s historic Grand Central Market is getting a little bit of spiffying up.

So far G & B Coffee, Sticky Rice, Valerie Confections, Bulgarini Gelato, and Horse Thief BBQ have started serving in the marketplace, which is located in the Historic Core of Downtown L.A. And soon there'll be Belcampo, a sustainable butcher from the Bay Area, coming into the space.

This is hardly the first time new stalls have come in to the market; that's the nature of the restaurant business after all. But this makeover, which is meant to make the GCM more like the Ferry Building, is definitely the glossiest.

Several new purveyors, including artisan bread, cheese, sustainably raised meat and fish, and farmers market produce, will be making their way into the Broadway Street location over the next several months. In addition to the aforementioned openings, the owners have now added universal free WiFi throughout the market, making for a more laid-back "living room" type vibe.
