Photos: The French Laundry and Wine Country Come to Manhattan Beach

Last night the Strand House hosted the seventh of their eight Culinary Masters dinners, where they invite esteemed chefs to come in and cook supper with a California winemaker. The Monday evening affair wasn't your run-of-the-mill wine dinner though; chef Timothy Hollingsworth — formerly of the French Laundry — prepared his first meal for guests since he's moved to L.A. alongside chefs Neal Fraser and Greg Hozinsky.

Though it's been reported that the cool-headed Hollingsworth came down to surf and start up some sort of taco concept, the truth came out when we met his stunning girlfriend Caroline, who just so happens to reside in Glendale. After a glass of wine, the young JBF winner and Bocuse d'Or Competitor openly talked about their relationship in his post-meal spiel. He also mentioned something about long seasons and stone fruit, but let's get real: it's the girl. And we don't blame the guy. She's gorgeous.

We couldn't be happier for the two of them, especially it means that he'll be hanging in the L.A. area for a while. Last night's $200 dinner sold out in 5 hours, but that's not the last we'll be seeing of Hollingsworth; he'll be consulting at Michael Zislis' other MB area restaurants until he gets his footing for his L.A. digs.

Here's what ate alongside Massimo Monticelli's B Wise wines.
