The Best Happy Hours in Los Angeles

Happy hour is a very personal thing, and quite frankly one's favorite spot to gather for a post-work tipple likely correlates to the location of your employer and/or your doorstep. But we've roamed around town and found some of the city's best deals for post-work drinking. Here are 10 of our favorites, in no particular order.

THE FALLS
Happy hour goes from 6 p.m.-9p.m. every night at this Downtown bar, and features one of the best deals out there: $5 for a beer and a shot. They've also got plenty of specialty cocktails like the Hunter, which is a riff on an old fashioned made with Buffalo Trace bourbon, lemon juice, orange juice, bitters, and honey for only $6. Sit back in their tufted booths and enjoy.

The Falls is located at 626 S Spring St., Downtown (213) 612-0072

BAR BOUCHON
Every Monday through Friday from 4-7 p.m., Thomas Keller's French-themed bar offers a happy hour menu with $4 beers, glasses of house red or white wine for $5, and a special cocktail of the day for $7. There are also small plates from $2-$7, and ample outdoor seating that'll make you feel like you've escaped your 9-5 and arrived in France.

Bar Bouchon is located at 235 N Canon Dr., Beverly Hills (310) 281-5698

IO WEST
After a long day at work with a horrible boss, sometimes all you want to do is laugh. Head over to IO West and grab a ticket for a show, and then enjoy their daily happy hour specials that go from 5-8 p.m. on Monday-Friday. Our favorite deals are the $3 well drinks on Monday, a drink wheel on Wednesday, and $5 bourbons and Belgian beers on Thursday.

IO West is located at 6366 Hollywood Blvd Los Angeles (323) 962-7560

ONE EYED GYPSY
You've been slogging along at the office all day, and you really want to cut loose with some crazy—perhaps even circus-y—fun. One Eyed Gypsy downtown would certainly be your spot, with their skee-ball, burlesque, and other saucy, sassy entertainment, and the Happy Hour menu that's equally as playful. Get a slider and beer or a corn-dog and a beer for $5, or a Clowns Cup (vodka, cucumber, sea salt and lime) for $4. There are also deep-fried Oreos for $1. 'Nuff said.

One Eyed Gypsy is located at 901 E 1st St., Downtown (626) 340-3529

CANAL CLUB
This Venice restaurant offers daily deep discounts on Asian-inspired drinks and eats. There's a $5 pint of Kirin on offer, but the $5 ginger martini is our editor Lauren Lloyd's favorite. She suggests skipping out on the miso soup and ordering shishito peppers, the s.t.s.t. roll, spicy edamame, or their unique brie and grape quesadilla.

The Canal Club is located at 2025 Pacific Ave., Venice (310) 823-3878

BIERBEISL
You shouldn't let all the buzz—or the zip code—deter you from this Beverly Hills happy hour. Normally, Bernhard Mairinger's comforting Austrian fare doesn't come cheap. But there are ways to skirt such things, like their happy hour, which offers $7 sausages and 10 oz. draft beers. HH goes from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. every weekday. You can pick from some of the unique sausage options, like the käsekrainer made with Swiss cheese, or the more traditional bangers like the cabanossi or weiswurst. The meats are served with spicy whole grain mustard and freshly grated horseradish.

Bierbeisl is located at 9669 Santa Monica Blvd., Beverly Hills (310) 271-7274

THE MISFIT
We love an extended happy hour, especially when there's sunshine out in Santa Monica. At the Misfit, happy hour runs from noon to 7pm daily, and includes gastropub specials as well as $5 beer and wine and half off selected well drinks.

The Misfit is located at 225 Santa Monica Blvd., Santa Monica (310) 656-9800

DRAGO CENTRO
If you want to ball on a budget, Drago Centro's happy hour is just the spot. They've got specialty cocktails ranging from $5-8, as well as nibtes on a discount. Think house selection of charcuterie served fried gnocco for $6, and a variety of wood-fired pizzas for $5. If you really want to class it up, order the crystal point oysters with rhubarb mignonette, also $5.

Drago Centro is located at 525 S Flower St., Downtown (213) 228-8998

ST. FELIX
This West Hollywood bar and lounge on Santa Monica and Robertson has an amazing happy hour every day of the week from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The menu includes plenty of tasty small plates for just $5, including Moroccan chicken cups, Cubano tacos, and an ahi tuna slider with sweet potato fries. All drinks are half off during the extended HH, too. Talk about a steal.

St. Felix is located at 8945 Santa Monica Blvd., West Hollywood (310) 275-4428

OLDFIELD'S LIQUOR ROOM
The original craft cocktail era comes to life at Oldfield's, with sleeve-gartered bartenders and a truly excellent Aviation with real Creme Yvette. For happy hour, try one of the four or five craft drinks for $7, including the Oldfield’s Hemingway (a combo of grapefruit, rye, maraschino liqueur and lime) or beer and wine for $5-6. Oldfield's also offers tasty mini paninis for $6 for HH, which runs from 5:30-9 p.m. every day.

Oldfield's is located at 10899 Venice Blvd., West LA (310) 842-8066
