$1 Express Bus Service From L.A. To Bay Area and Vegas is Back!
But Megabus was, alas, deemed a "megabust" within one year, and many think poor marketing was to blame for the painfully low ridership. The popular regional express bus service has flourished elsewhere in the U.S. thanks to runs between close major hubs and fares as low as a buck, depending on how close to your travel date you book your seat. So guess what, L.A.? Megabus IS BACK.
Megabus has announced that they will begin frequent daily service between California and Nevada hubs December 12, and you can begin booking your fares online today—and travel between December 12 and 19 is just $1 each way.
So why come back? Mike Alvich, VP of Marketing and PR for Megabus says the company is "confident that our 21st century double-decker buses with Wi-Fi and power outlets combined with our outstanding prices will be a success among California and Nevada residents."
Riders departing from Los Angeles can catch a Megabus to Las Vegas, San Francisco, Oakland, or San Jose. While a bus ride isn't exactly as dreamy as, say, high speed rail, an affordable, direct ride to the Bay Area or Sin City complete with WiFi is something you can get now. And that's pretty awesome.
