It's time to start ramping up the political comedy! There are plenty of Democrat-skewing shows going on this week (more than we could list), as well as the usual slate of stand up, sketch and improv. Make your choices now!

If you've got an upcoming show that you'd like to see listed here, email me.

MONDAY 10/1

The Smokes, 7p UCB. As always, The Smokes kick long form improv butt, and don’t even bother taking names.

The Erics Move to L.A., 9p iO West. Eric Siegel and Eric T. Roth are two great dudes from Chicago, who made their way to L.A. to make it big. This is their story - sort of.

TUESDAY 10/2

Obamalogues, 7:30p iO West. It’s all about Obama, with stories, songs and anything else you can think of to celebrate the man in charge.

Flyover Comedy, 10p Hollywood Improv. It’s stand up time, with Eddie Pepitone, Duncan Trussell, Brendon Walsh and more.

WEDNESDAY 10/3

The Meltdown Show, 8:30p NerdMelt Showroom. Jonah Ray and Kumail Nanjiani’s weekly stand up show has Moshe Kasher, Garfunkel & Oates, Emily Maya Mills and cartoonish Dan Piraro.

Beer in the Shower, 9:30p Dreams Lounge. Great stand up from Eric Dadourian, Hampton Yount and others.

THURSDAY 10/4

Big Grande’s Little Sketch Show, 8p UCB. Some of UCB’s strongest Harold night members are putting up a sketch show. It’s got everything you wanted to see, and a bunch of stuff you probably will wish you never laid your eyes on.

Odd Thursdays, 9p The Palace Restaurant. Great stand up every other Thursday, with this week featuring Baron Vaughn, Howard Kremer, Sean O’Conner and others.

FRIDAY 10/5

Horrible Movie Night, 9p NerdMelt Showroom. The long-running, genre-skewering movie interaction show is celebrating three years, if you can believe it. Apparently, this movie is going to blow every other one out of the water.

Comedy Collide, 8p 826LA (Echo Park). Music and comedy collide with some of UCB’s finest performers, including Matt Braunger, Nick Thune, Matt Besser, Dominic Dierkes, The Birthday Boys and more.

SATURDAY 10/6

Jay Mohr, 9p Irvine Improv. Mohr is putting in a full weekend of work in Irvine.

Stuffed & Unstrung, 9:30p Largo. Formerly “Puppet Up”, this puppet comedy show is a crude, outrageous bit of fun for adults.

SUNDAY 10/7

Ggrog & Mmog, 9p ComedySportz. It’s two-man improv time, where cavemen learn, grow, and become part of history right before your very eyes.

Barack The Vote, 9:30p Hollywood Improv. Pro-Dem supporters should make their way out to this awesome show, featuring Jimmy Dore, Paul Gilmartin, Nick Kroll and so many more great people.
