This is an extra-special week for comedy, as the Riot L.A. festival officially kicks off in Downtown Los Angeles. After a hard-fought victory via Kickstarter, the festival earned enough cash to happen, and we all get to reap the rewards. Huge national names will be hitting the bars and theaters throughout the area, while the rest of the week is no slouch, either. Check out the details below, it's going to be one hell of a party.

Everybody Gets Laid, 9:30p Improv Lab. Rory Scovel is doing a set at The Improv Lab on Melrose, alongside Karen Kilgariff and others.
The BEATdown, 11p UCB. Comedians battle for rap supremacy, including Colton Dunn, Rebecca Drysdale, TJ Miller and more.
Doug Loves Movies, 7:30p UCB. Doug Benson’s live version of his popular podcast rips apart movies with some of his favorite friends and guests.
Casey & Dave are Different, 8p Comedy Central Stage. UCB regulars Casey Feigh and Dave Theune take their two-man sketch show to the Comedy Central Stage on Santa Monica.
For the Love of Pete, 8p Laugh Factory. This charity stand up show features Matt Dwyer, Drew Carey, Rob Delaney, Brendon Walsh, Matt Braunger and tons more people, to benefit the Leaders of Tomorrow Children’s Home. /
Picture This!, 9p Little Modern Theater. Stand ups do their set while being drawn live by animators. This month has DC Pierson, Chris Fairbanks, Cornell Reid and more.
Westside Laugh Party, 8p Westside Comedy Theater. They’re certainly booking better acts at the Westside Comedy Theater, with this stand up show featuring Rob Delaney and Brody Stevens.
Matt Portman’s Bar Mitzvah, 9p Jaragua. Portman’s been hosting this show for a while now, and what better time for a great show than the High Holy Days? He’s brought out Jerrod Carmichael, Jade Catta Pretta, Eliza Skinner and others.
Improv4Humans, 8p The Small. As part of RiotLA, Matt Besser’s popular Earwolf podcast brings along Jon Daly, Ian Roberts and Horatio Sanz for an evening of improvisation.
The Channel 101 Experience, Midnight Downtown Independent Theater. Rob Schrab and Dan Harmon will be on hand to discuss the past and future of Channel 101, the popular monthly comedy video experience. They’ll also be screening some of the best stuff produced for the program so far.
Storytime for Grownups, 5p Downtown Independent Theater. KCRW sponsors this storytelling show, hosted by Colin Hanks. Expect stories from Stephen Merchant, Marc Maron, James Adomian, Maria Bamford and more.
WTF Live!, 8p Downtown Independent Theater. Marc Maron’s extremely popular podcast goes live, featuring Ron Lynch, Eddie Pepitone, Andy Dick and more.
Best of Riot LA, 7p Five Stars Bar. All weekend long, they’ll be compiling the best stand ups from the festival to do their own sets. This round has Ron Funches, Brent Weinbach, Hampton Yount, Johnny Pemberton and more.
Team Coco Live, 8p Downtown Independent Theater. The Conan writers and TeamCoco.com folks are running a live show, featuring stand up from Jon Dore, Andres Du Bouchet, Rory Scovel and many more.
