It's always a good week for comedy, but you just might be hitting overload in the next seven days. As if the myriad stage shows all over the city aren't enough to normally entice you, FYF Fest's comedy tent will be going strong all weekend with some of the best names in standup. PLUS, Mike Birbiglia's Sleepwalk With Me shows all week at the Nuart Theater, meaning you've got no excuse (indoor or out) to avoid some great comedy.

As always, if you've got an upcoming show that you'd like to see listed here in the future, email me. I promise it will be the last mistake you ever make.

MONDAY 8/27

Melgard Mondays, 9p Melgard Public House. The Melrose beer bar is hosting another week of stand up comedy, with Howard Kremer, Hampton Yount, Joe Wengert and more.

Stuffed & Unstrung, 9:30p Largo. If you’re looking for dirty-talking puppets, well, I don’t know, figure out some personal stuff. Then get to Largo.

TUESDAY 8/28

Skinny & Attractive, 8p Comedy Central Stage. Matt McConkey and Erin Pineda are going to take the world by storm. Somehow….

Le Village, 9p Rockwell Table & Stage. It’s another new variety show, with Tom Lennon, Eric Andre, Matt Braunger and a ton of other great folks.

WEDNESDAY 8/29

Full Blown Downs, 8p UCB. Constant SNL-buzzworthy performer Paul Downs is still in LA for the moment, so you’d better get out to see him do some characters, bits and videos while you still can.

For Shame, 8:30p Hollywood Improv. Brooks Wheelan and Tiger Lily’s Jazz Ponce run a new night at the Lab, featuring comedians talking about their most embarrassing musical loves. Then, they play a music video from said group and all the other comics make fun of it.

THURSDAY 8/30

Tony Danza Won’t Be Here, 8p Westside Comedy Theater. Baron Vaughn and Jerrod Carmichael lead the way in this night of stand up comedy on the Westside.

Megan Mullally / Stephanie Hunt, 9p Largo. Mullally and Hunt rock out for the night with their new band, helped of course by comedians - including Jack Black.

FRIDAY 8/31

Coagula Comedy, 8p Coagula Curatorial. If you happen to find yourself near Dodger Stadium on Friday night, consider heading to a show that has The Walsh Brothers, Matt Knudsen, Raj Desai and more.

Peachy Keen, 8p Bar Lubitsch. Chris Porter, Chris Fairbanks and a ton more great people are out in West Hollywood for the night.

SATURDAY 9/1

FYF Fest, All Day - LA State Historic Park. For anyone going to FYF this weekend, sneak over to the comedy tent to catch David Cross, Maria Bamford, Pete Holmes, Brent Weinbach, Rory Scovel, a live version of The Eric Andre Show and so many more great acts.
