Three coyotes snatched and killed a small dog in Huntington Beach over the weekend, prompting residents to demand a better solution to the coyote problem from officials.

KTLA reports that a couple was walking their dogs in the Huntington Beach Central Park nature reserve when the pack of wild animals grabbed one of the pups, killing it. The couple told the news station that no signs exist warning residents of the danger.

"There are tons of park rules for dogs and people," said Nicole Elliott, "but there's not one warning sign saying be on the lookout for coyotes."

In response to this and other attacks — including one involving an 8-year-old girl — residents are meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Huntington Park Library along with members of the City Council, Orange County Animal Control and the Department of Fish and Game.
