STALKER: See Your Everyday Life Unfold In Solberg's Art
By Alexandra Howland
"STALKER" is a new world of reflection. Solberg has covered the gallery with reflective insulation panels, causing your image to stare back at you as you watch your everyday life unfold in a mix of ink and paint.
An intimate retelling of Solbergs’ personal experiences, desires and intimacies, she has once again been fearless in pushing her work to its limits.
"During the Romantic period the exploration of reason and madness was closely linked to the concept of the Sublime, which mingled pain, pleasure and terror and transformed horror, ugliness and madness into something majestic," explains Solberg in a release about the exhibit. Solberg adds: "This grand installation was approached as a submission to darkness in order to find the true light, a light that is meant to expose itself upon completion and unveiling."
Constructed as though it were a puzzle, you will be lost within the metallic eeriness that is "STALKER." This installation will be up until July 14, 2012 and is not something you
want to miss.
Solberg was born in Chicago but lives in Downtown LA. She is renowned for her unconventional approach and the dreamlike world she creates within each piece.
The opening reception will be Friday, June 15th, 7-10 PM.
