TV Junkie: Golden Globes Weekend; Bill Maher Returns
"The 69th Annual Golden Globes" are on Sunday providing Ricky Gervais with an easy "69" joke to start the evening with.
Weekend Highlights: If you love "Battlestar Galactica" you will love tonight's episode of "Portlandia" (IFC @ 10pm), 'nuff said. | "Real Time With Bill Maher" returns to HBO tonight at 8pm (and reruns repeatedly), Herman Cain, among others, is a guest. | Daniel Radcliffe hosts "SNL" this weekend. | Sunday features the season finale of AMC's "Hell On Wheels" at 10pm. | Sunday also features a little thing called The Golden Globes with pre-shows on NBC and E! and the main event starting at 8pm on NBC. I will be at the Golden Globes, follow my Tweets at @TheTVJunkie and I will post footage from the show right here on LAist. Sunday I will also post my TV picks so we can see how my expertise racks up against the unruly band of alien journalists called The Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Stay Tuned For: A new "Soon To Be Critically Acclaimed Tour of..." video from comedian Bill Burr - we shot it in Santa Monica and Venice Beach this morning and it's gonna be killer. | "Spartacus" fans, I have interviews with Lucy Lawless, showrunner Steven DeKnight, and "new" Spartacus Liam McIntyre. | I sat down with Al Gore today and we talked about the Occupy movement and the lack of mainstream media coverage.
Reminder: Tomorrow night there are 2 great show at the Hollywood Improv Lab: "The Great Depression Happy Hour" at 8:30pm with star of TV, film, and podcasts, Mr. Eddie Pepitone, and "The Long Shot (Podcast) Comedy Hour" at 10:30pm.
