Don't let those calendars fool you, summer is still here! And with it, plenty of opportunities for great comedy. It's going to be an extended Labor Day weekend for most, so get out and enjoy yourselves with a superb week of shows.

MONDAY 8/29

Lord of the Flies, 8p Comedy Central Stage. Lesley Tsina has a hilarious one-woman show about working for a cell phone ringtone company, and why their inevitable downfall might make any remaining employees a little batty.

The Girls of Summer, 8p Largo. Garfunkel & Oates are bringing the ladies to Largo with a night that features their music stylings, as well as Natasha Leggero, Sarah Silverman and Jen Kirkman.


TUESDAY 8/30

Nerdy Secrets, 8p Nerdist Theater and Meltdown Comics. DC Pierson and Mo Fathelbab take you inside the mind of the nerd, with guests including Kumail Nanjiani and the Simpsons Executive Producer / Writer Matt Selman.

Donkey Show, 8p Big Foot Lodge. Sam Brown, Shawn Pearlman and Sean O’Conner are putting up a stand up show that features Josh Fadem, Kumail Nanjiani, Iliza Shlesinger, Pete Holmes and more.


WEDNESDAY 8/31

Super Sketchy Show, 8p Comedy Central Stage. Familiar Def Poetry performer George Watsky presents a night of sketch, music and rhymes.

Shitty Holidays, 9:30p UCB. The Sunday night Shitty Jobs crew (Charlie Sanders, the Derrick Comedy guys, Ben Schwartz, Sean Clements and Eric Appel) wants to use your worst holiday as a springboard for great improv.


THURSDAY 9/1

Pinata, 8p Bang Studios. Pinata is a monthly essay show about what it’s like to have to world beat you around a little.

Blood Bath, 8:30p Improv Lab. Eddie Pepitone’s new show continues to kill, and this time around he’s got Dana Gould to help stack bodies.


FRIDAY 9/2

Celebrity Funeral: Nicolas Cage, 8p UCB. This great UCBTNY show is out in LA, and hammering it home with a cast that includes Brandon Johnson, Lennon Parham, Kimmy Gatewood, Nicole Shabtai and more.

Orpheus Roy, 10p iO West. Roy is a powerhouse improv team who’ve battled their way through the iO system to a string of mainstage successes. Check ‘em!


SATURDAY 9/3

Long Way Down, 8p ‘Scum Palace’. This is as DIY as it gets: stand up on a rooftop in Culver City. Performers include Kumail Nanjiani, Rob Delaney, Paul Danke and more.

Hannibal Buress, 10p Hollywood Improv. Buress is doing an 8pm show too, but why not make it a full night of Labor Day comedy with one of the best young stand ups in the game.


SUNDAY 9/4

Jo Koy, 7p Irvine Improv. Koy is in Irivne all weekend.

John Witherspoon, 7p Brea Improv. Familiar face Witherspoon is doing a full weekend stand in Brea.
