Walking Green: LA Designer Creates $18,000 Flip Flop That Saves The Rainforest
LA-based Chipkos, a company that's boasting "the world's most expensive flip flop."
Created in part by artist David Palmer, the $18,000, hand-painted, 60s ashram style sandals feature eco friendly gold that does more than make your feet feel expensive. Each sale will protect 100,000 square feet of Costa Rican rain forest as part of their Stand For Square Feet campaign.
In addition to planet saving, purchasers will also save on lodging. Each pair of flip flops comes with a bonus gift of two-nights free at the LEED-certified Montage Hotel in Beverly Hills and a meet n' greet with the artist.
