Authorities have taken into custody Dominique Rush, 23, of Oxnard, and her father, Stephen Rush, 44, of Porter Ranch, reports KTLA.
The two are blamed for the death of 17-year-old German Alex Romero, a student at Chatsworth High, who had been riding his bicycle with some friends at around 9 o'clock the night of April 20th. Romero was struck from behind by the driver of a vehicle that fled the scene. The teen was found dead on the sidewalk.
The LAPD believe Dominique Rush was the driver, and now she faces charges of gross vehicular manslaughter and felony hit and run.
Her father "was arrested for allegedly helping his daughter conceal the crime after the fact."
Bail has been set for Ms. Rush at $100,000 and Mr. Rush at $20,000.
