This summer is slowing down for absolutely no one, so you might as well try to grab the damn thing and hold on. If you're looking for a firm handhold on some fun summer activities for this week, check the comedy show calendar listings below.

If you've got a show coming up that you'd like to see promoted here, email me and we'll talk. Summer!

MONDAY 8/8

Brunch, 8p The Park. It’s another killer booking by the Brunch folks, with Lizzy Cooperman, Josh Fadem, TJ Miller and more.

Tiger Lily, 8p Hollywood Studio Bar & Grill. Tiger Lily is the show that helped launch a movement, and with good reason: Jimmy Dore, Eddie Pepitone, Kumail Nanjiani, Barry Rothbar, Paul Danke and more.

TUESDAY 8/9

Performance Anxiety, 8p The Pleasure Chest. This show continues to gain ground, and a night with TJ Miller and Greg Proops is sure to help.

FrankenMatt, 10p Second City. Frank Caeti and Matt Craig are the unstoppable sketch / improv duo FrankenMatt, a combination force of comedy that can’t be stopped.

WEDNESDAY 8/10

Glitter in the Gabage Live, 8p Comedy Central Stage. Drew Droege brings his popular Earwolf podcast of aforementioned name to the CC Stage for a free live taping.

Maude Night, 8p UCB. It’s Maude night (the sketch alternative to UCB’s Harold night - get it?!), with house teams Goodman and Bonafide ready to sketch your faces off.

THURSDAY 8/11

True Story, 8p iO West. This month’s theme is “risky business”, and features gems by the likes of Jean Villepique and Brian Finkelstein.

A Great & Terrible Thing, 10:30p Hollywood Improv. It must be storytelling night, with great/terrible tales by Grant Pardee, Ron Babcock, Barak Hardley and more.

FRIDAY 8/12

Google my Tweet, 8p Second City. It’s a heavy-hitter night of Chicago sketch comedy, featuring Megan Grano, Jamie Moyer and more.

Kevin Nealon, 10p Irvine Improv. Nealon will be handing out comedy all weekend in Irvine.

SATURDAY 8/13

Pop & Politics, 8p Nerdmelt Theater. Jimmy Dore’s popular celebrity panel show takes over the back of Meltdown Comics. This month’s guests include Frank Conniff and David Feldman, current writer for Real Time with Bill Maher and the Daily Show.

Christopher Titus, 10p Ontario Improv. Things might get a little screamy this weekend, with Titus in Ontario for a slew of shows.

SUNDAY 8/14

Matt Mira’s Day Off, 7p Nerdmelt Theater. Mira and Paul Cibis are taking the reigns for a night of open mic comedy that will likely leave you laughing and scratching your head at the same time.

Wayne Brady, 7p Brea Improv. Brady is out in Brea all weekend, so don’t be surprised if you hit a little ‘sixty year old white person’ traffic.
