Ice Cream Week: N'ice Cream
July is National Ice Cream Month. To celebrate, we'll be reviewing some of our favorite ice cream spots — and some new ones, too — all this week.
Featuring amazing gelato and sorbets made fresh every morning, N'ice Cream flavors contain only natural ingredients, are lower in sugar (cane sugar is the only sweetener used) than traditional ice cream.
In addition to old favorites (chocolate, vanilla bean, strawberry, coffee), N'ice cream features flavors such as salted caramel (the best flavor, in our humble opinion), coconut (made with real coconut, of course), chocolate sea salt, peanut butter, and pineapple sorbet.
None of the flavors are overly sweet, just bursting with real flavor.
If you're wondering which flavors have been made at each store, the website has a handy list for you.
At the Abbot Kinney location (the original N'ice Cream, with two additional stores on Ocean Front Walk in Venice and at the Market at Santa Monica Place), we ordered two double scoops. One was a combo of the amazing salted caramel and coconut, the other was a combo of caramel crunch and straciatella.
While the combo flavors are impressive, in our opinion, N'ice cream's at it best when it's kept simple. The fresh flavors are really an experience, and we recommend the next time you're in the area you stop in for some transcendent salted caramel ice cream and $1 organic coffee.
