Another strong week of comedy is upon us, including great showings by the Comedy Central Stage and Largo. Possible summertime highlight? Melgard Mondays is moving to the patio for some great stand up under the stars. Get out, get get involved, and get yourself a case of the giggles.

If you'd like to see a show listed here in the future, shoot me an email and we'll talk.

MONDAY 7/25

Sister Mary Liar, 8p Comedy Central Stage. Carla Snowden’s wonderful one-woman show is up and running one more time at the CC stage. If you like nuns or lying to the religious in general, you’ll love this one.

The Apple Sisters, 8:30p Largo. The Sisters are back at Largo with a whole new show, on a cruise ship no less! Expect the usual barrage of song, dance, sketch, and giggles.

TUESDAY 7/26

Sky & Nancy Collins, 8p Comedy Central Stage. The whitest white couple to ever white up an LA stage, Sky & Nancy Collins hail from a gated OC community, and love to rub your nose in it. This looks to be a fantastic character show.

Nick Kroll & Friends, 9p Largo. Kroll has Rob Riggle, Jon Daly, Russell Brand come hang out with him at Largo.

WEDNESDAY 7/27

Punk House 5th Anniversary, 9p Westside Comedy. Ed Galvez has been running this show in Santa Monica for five years?! Gollly. Better get Ian Edwards, Ron Lynch, Jay Larson and more out to celebrate!

Beer in the Shower, 9:30p Dreams Lounge. The show, the venue, the fact that one of your hosts is named MC Mr. Napkins: this one has it all, including stand up from Hasan Minhaj, Tess Barker and more.

THURSDAY 7/28

Ineffable, 8p Comedy Central Stage. The great Ten West guys are at the CC stage with an all-new show about (what else) a funeral.

Hamclown, 9p The Mezz Bar. Grant Pardee, Josh Androsky, Andres du Bouchet, Chris Fairbanks and more. Hot damn.

FRIDAY 7/29

Ron Artest Comedy Tour, 10p Brea Improv. As if you didn’t already know, Metta World Peace (aka Ron Artest) is doing his own comedy tour during this NBA lockout. Don’t act like this isn’t the best / worst news you’ve heard all week.

Caveman Jet Pilot, 10:30p Improv Lab. It’s a sketch / stand up mash-up show, with the likes of Ron Babcock, Erik Charles Nielsen and Grant Pardee in attendance.

SATURDAY 7/30

Sentimental Lady, 7p UCB. Sentimental Lady’s new improv show focuses on those guilty pleasures we all can’t help ourselves with.

Heart of Darkness, 8p Nerdist Theater. New York City’s Greg Barris is bringing his heady stand up show to LA for one night, with Rory Scovel, Jon Dore, Ron Lynch and more.

SUNDAY 7/31

D.L. Hughley, 7p Irvine Improv. Hughley is in Irvine all weekend, just stirrin’ a whole mess of stuff.

Summer Camp, 9:30p UCB. Camp is all about great triumphs, embarrassing stories, and pine tar. This year, sit in the comfort of UCBs theater as some of their best improvisers bring you all that, and more.
