Who ya gonna call? Holebusters! 'Operation Pothole' is back, so put your spirit fingers to work and start dialing 3-1-1 to report those car-breaking, neck-aching, swerve-making potholes (or submit a request online). By order of the Mayor, crews will be fanning out across the city over the weekend of June 4 and 5 with a mission to repair 20,000 potholes in two days.
Residents can help improve our collective neighborhood with vigilant reporting of the offending holes. The Department of Public Works will be taking the information and feedback received to help direct the 75 dispatched crews, according to a statement from the mayor's office, notes the Daily News.
"Pothole repair is one critical component of our overall street maintenance and resurfacing program," said Public Works Commissioner Andrea Alarcon. "Under the Mayor's proposed budget, in the next fiscal year we would be able to fill over 300,000 potholes to ensure safer streets for City residents"
