Boom Goes The Weather: Flood Advisory, Thunderstorms, High Surf, Heavy Wind & Rain [Updated]

What do you think of Dr. Goldfoot so far? Pretty entertaining, right? If you haven't gotten around to it yet, don't worry, showers are expected to come and go through the afternoon with a possibility of a thunderstorm and heavy rainfall. The high today is expected near 61 with winds 15-20 mph and gusts as high as 30 mph (up to 75 in the mountains), according to the National Weather Service.

Also, the LA County Department of Public Works closed the following roads:

  • Angeles Forest Highway from Aliso Canyon Road to Angeles Crest Highway
  • Big Tujunga Canyon Road from the Los Angeles city limits to Angeles Forest Highway and to the Angeles Crest Highway
  • Upper Big Tujunga Road from Angeles Forest Highway to Angeles Crest Highway.
  • Mt Wilson Road from SR 2 TO Mt Wilson Circle Road

Tonight, more rain and possibly a thunderstorm with a low around 49. Commute Warning for tomorrow: Monday shows the possibility of a thunderstorm before 11am, then a chance of showers throughout the day. The winds should be calmer and the high is expected near 62. Drive safely.

KTLA - Over and inch and a half of rain was registered in DtLA as of 7:00 p.m. surpassing its rain record. Crews are working to restore power to over 10,000 customers without power in the metropolitan Los Angeles area and San Fernando Valley.

NWS - Nearly 20 feet of snow has fallen so far in the Ventura County mountains. Snow falling as low at 4,000 feet in the Grapevine. Flood warning for Ventura River until noon tomorrow. Santa Barbara flood threat. Severe thunderstorm warning in Orange County until 8pm.

KNX1070 - According to the LAFD, 12 homes and 30 people have been evacuated because debris and mud are flowing into retaining wall at 4855 N Regalo Rd. in Woodland Hills, Flooding has shut down lanes 1, 2, 3 of southbound 710 at Firestone Blvd, according to the CHP and PCH at Topanga Canyon Blvd is closed to all westbound traffic due to rock slides and downed trees.
