LAUSD Police Officer Shot Near El Camino Real High School

A LAUSD police officer was wounded in a shooting near El Camino Real High School in Woodland Hills this morning, according to LA Now. Though the shooting did not happen on campus, the school has been placed on lockdown and a perimeter has been established as a manhunt is underway to locate the suspect, described as "a white man in his 40s wearing blue jeans and a bomber jacket who fled the scene through the alley." The officer was strong enough to put in a radio call about his own injuries and the incident. UPDATE: 12:48 PM: The LAPD say that "several people" have been detained, but none arrested. Also at issue is a nearby resident's call regarding a prowler matching the shooter's description, according to a live report on KTLA.
