High temperatures were broken on Wednesday and they followed suit on Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. This time, however, it was not as extreme and only a handful of records were broken:

  • LAX: 96 tied 1976's record
  • Downtown L.A: A new record of 96 tied a record set in 1976
  • Long Beach: A new record of 96 beat a 1976 record of 95
  • San Gabriel: A new record of 98 tied the 1976 record
  • Santa Monica Pier: A new record of 96, beating 88 from 1976
  • UCLA: 97 tied 1976's record
  • Camarillo: 96 beat 1949's 95
  • Santa Monica Airport: 93 beat 1949's 92

Luckily, temperatures are expected to see a cooling trend starting today and continuing throughout the weekend, when some rain is possible.
