Big changes are coming to downtown Los Angeles and for the 7+Fig mall, that could be a Target store. Numerous tenants at the complex have been given notices to vacate their stores by January to make way for a renovation project, according to the Downtown News.

Neither property owner Brookfield Properties nor Target would confirm the long-talked about scenario, but most seem to agree that Target is slated for the space with an opening scheduled in two years, LAist has learned.

Not all tenants will go, however. California Pizza Kitchen, Starbucks, Morton’s Steakhouse, Adoro Mexican Grille and Gold’s Gym will remain open during construction, notes the paper.

Target has recently found itself in controversy after it made a large donation to an anti-gay candidate. There's no saying how that would affect any project approvals at the city council level, but West Hollywood's city council is still awaiting for an apology to the LGBT community. Also, a Target slated for the Hollywood at Sunset and has been delayed, but for different reasons.
