Not to hate on the margarita, but who wants to keep running back and forth to the blender? Here are some easily mixed drinks to make your weekend a splash!.

Herradura Tropical Cooler
I can attest to a special affinity for blanco tequila and peach nectar

In a shaker with ice add:
2 ounces Herradura Blanco
4 ounces peach nectar
4 ounces pineapple juice
Strain into rocks glass and garnish with grilled peach and pineapple slice

Joie De VeeV

3/4 lime juice
3/4 simple syrup
Prep/Muddle strawberry and mint, add liquor
Shake & Strain over ice

Fragola Rocks Cocktail
From Dominick's in West Hollywood. I'm not sure you have to go to Oxnard for two strawberries, but it probably helps

Muddle two strawberries (from Harry’s Berries in Oxnard)
1 oz. simple syrup
1 oz. fresh lemon juice
2 oz. Sailor Jerry's Rum
Splash of soda water
Mint leaves
Ice
Combine all ingredients, add ice and shake. Top with a splash of soda water and garnish with mint leaves.

Spicy Watermelon Margarita
This recipe comes to us from Hudson House in Redondo Beach. Shaken, not blended.

10 ¼-inch cubes of freshly cut watermelon
1/3 serrano chile, sliced
1 1/2 oz. freshly squeezed lime juice
1 oz. freshly squeezed watermelon juice
1 oz. simple syrup
Splash Triple Sec
2 oz. Corralejo silver tequila
Muddle the chile, lime juice, and watermelon in a pint glass until well smashed. Add the rest of the ingredients, fill the glass with ice and shake well. Serve with a lime wheel garnish.

The Thirsty Crow
The Thirsty Crow (LAist Review) cocktail was invented in 2010 at the Thirsty Crow Bar in Silver Lake by (Cooper Gillespie).

Build in a Mason Jar glass
1 oz fresh lemon juice
1 oz Jim Beam Rye
1 oz Luxardo Maraschino
4 oz Ginger Beer (preferably spicy ginger beer such as Fentimans)
Dash Angostura Bitters

Add ice to glass. Add ingredients. Garnish with lemon wedge, Luxardo Maraschino cherry and a sprig of mint.

The Bourberry
OK, I'm sneaking in one more from The Thirsty Crow but it's so good

2 oz Buffalo Trace bourbon
2 fresh cut strawberries
7-10 mint leaves
.25 oz lime juice
.25 oz simple syrup
top with ginger beer
Served on the rocks with a mint sprig, and lime wheel.

Vitamin A
From Drago Centro in Downtown LA. Carrot juice may seem unusual at first, but it is surprisingly refreshing, and so colorful it makes a perfect summer drink

1 oz Karlsons Vodka
1 oz fresh carrot juice
1 oz fresh orange juice
¾ oz St. Germain
1 barspoon fresh ginger
¼ Serrano pepper
Grate ginger, muddle pepper, add all other ingredients, shake and fine strain into a Martini glass. Garnish with a Carrot loop

Drink responsibly. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery (including boats and ATVs), avoid swimming unattended and saying things that will get you punched in the mouth.
