Reggie the Alligator Has a New Female Companion

Reggie the alligator made headlines in 2007 when the former pet was retrieved from his makeshift home in Harbor City's Machado Lake and taken to live at the LA Zoo.

But people thought Reggie was lonely at the zoo, so they made sure he had lots of visitors. Reggie wasn't too keen on all the attention, and actually took it upon himself to try to make a break for it not long after he got there.

Of course, nothing beats that special kind of relationship, even for a street-hardened urban 'gator, and now he's sharing his space with a spicy number called Cajun Kate.

"The female gator moved in with Reggie after Methuselah, the zoo's oldest animal, died in March at 70-plus," reports the Daily News. Is this arranged co-habitation going to make Reggie a changed man alligator?
