Pencil This In: Project Ethos' Night of Art, Music, Fashion and Zombies and Suburbia at the Sacred Fools Theater

ART+FASHION
Project Ethos is putting on a night of fashion, music and art at the Music Box tonight in Hollywood. The collections of 10 designers will be featured, including two from Project Runway: Gordana Gehlhausen (GOGA by Gordana) and Jesus Estrada (Haus of Estrada). Live performances by R&B singer, Bruno Mars, Love Grenades and DJ Mando Fresko (Power 106) will be heard throughout the evening. There’s also live painting and visual installations. 8 pm. Tickets $20-$1000. Ages 18+.

PERFORMANCE
The Arts Council for Long Beach's A LOT series brings temporary visual and performing arts to vacant lots. Tonight’s installation Expulsion in the city’s Cambodia Town features a performance from Collage Dance Theatre (CDT) who explore “the temporary, often fragile nature of 'home.'” There’s a symposium following the performance. DJ set at 6 pm, Kogi BBQ at 6:30 pm. Or bring a picnic if you prefer. Free.

THEATER
Tonight Sacred Fools Theater Company presents Neighborhood III: Requisition of Doom by Jennifer Haley. Directed by Jaime Robledo, the play takes place in a suburban subdivision with identical houses, teens are addicted to an online horror video game about zombies in a neighborhood of identical houses. The line blurs between virtual reality and reality. Tonight at 8 pm. Runs Fridays and Saturdays through April 24. Tickets: $20

BENEFIT
The 60s icon Donovan headlines a benefit concert at the El Rey to support the David Lynch Foundation. Proceeds from the evening will help the foundation teach meditation to children in the LA area. Donovan will be joined by his daughter Astrella Celeste and son Donovan Jr. Other special guests include Poe, Matt Costa, The Global Sound Lodge: Matt Sorum (of Guns n Roses, Velvet Revolver) & Lanny Cordola, Amrita Sen (Weezer/Ozomatli), among others. 7:30 pm. Tickets: $25-$110.

MORE THEATER
The Southwest Entertainment Theatre Group presents Christopher Durang's one acts Sister Mary Ignatius Explains It All For You & The Actor's Nightmare tonight at 8 pm at the SCV Space in Santa Clarita. The first play deals with dogma and trauma--and is sure to appeal especially to all the Catholics and lapsed Catholics out there. The Actor's Nightmare focuses on an actor trapped in plays he has never rehearsed. Tickets $15, $10 for students and seniors.
