FMLY Bicycle Ride (Eastside Meets Westide!) 03/13/10

fmly_ride_poster.jpg I love me some Los Angeles (born, bred, and back again), but one of the things I miss the most about my time in San Francisco is the traffic-stopping, bell-ringing, cyclist rights-asserting celebration that is Critical Mass. Sure, LA has their own regional chapters, but with the city spread out as it is, the full impact of our cyclist army isn't felt as heartily as in our sister city to the North. Until now, that is.

The proactive kids in LA's beloved Rumspringa have put together an Eastside meets Westside bicycle ride tomorrow night in the name of peace, prosperity, and plenty of live music (we CAN all just get along!). Grab your gear (bike, helmet, lock, tools), pick a side at 7pm (Eastsiders are meeting in DTLA at Spring St./Cesar Chavez, Westsiders at Cloverfield Park), and mess with motorists (just kidding folks) as you make your way to the middle (West Adams/La Brea) for a local band smorgasbord.

Besides Rumspringa, you'll be treated to the sounds and sights of Insects vs. Robots, 60 Watt Kidd, The Light Rays and others - all for a $3 donation. Plus pizza! Let's give those SF bicyclists a run for their money.
