LAist Film Calendar: Eddie Izzard's Mega-Kung Fu All-Night Horror All-Weekend Fleshstravaganza!

If you've been to the New Bev as often as I have, you've found that the theater isn't run by a staff so much as a family. Friday, they pull out all the stops for one of their own, Julia Marchese, as she makes her big screen debut in the thriller Golden Earrings. Of course, for every sweet Julia, there are a plethora of bastard stepchildren. Late Friday, the Grindhouse Film Festival's "Midnight Grind" series returns with Autobiography of a Flea, based on the turn-of-the-century erotic priest-molestation satire. It ain't no bug's life. Saturday, horrors upon horrors bubble up and over the top with the second annual All Night Horror Show. With werewolves, witches, slashers, racists & god knows what else, you may not make it through the night - but you'll have the time of your life.

About this time, Cinefamily's thinking, "how's this guy going to refer to some OTHER theater staff as a family?!". Dearest Cinefamily, I could never forget you, especially not when you program the underrated slasher gem Sleepaway Camp, and an entire SERIES devoted to Brazilian psychedelic-horror-comic icon Coffin Joe! Cross over from cult horror to cult comedy with Eddie Izzard's Believe at Laemmle's, with the extraordinary Englishman appearing for Q&A's on Thursday & Friday. If that isn't enough drag for you, take a double dose of Sins O' The Flesh; alongside their legendary Rocky Horror Picture Show shadowcast, they're also performing Clue this week. And if you've still got energy to spare, take a slight detour into chop-socky with Spooky Encounters on Saturday & the premieres of locally shot martial arts/sketch comedy Karate Film Cafe and Australian import Maximum Choppage: Round 2.

Full list appears below. See you at the movies!
